For NRENs
Sovereign identity infrastructure, governance frameworks, training roadshows, and continental peering for Africa's National Research and Education Networks.
Two paths to the continental federation. Whether your NREN is ready to operate a national identity federation or still building toward it, eduID.africa supports both, with tooling, governance frameworks, and direct programme support.
Your NREN owns the infrastructure.
The path of preference. Your country operates a sovereign national identity federation, with eduID.africa providing the continental roof above it. Your institutions register with your NREN; your NREN peers with eduID.africa.
Governance sovereignty
Your country sets the trust framework, membership criteria, and policies for your national federation. eduID.africa operates at the continental level only.
Tooling and technical support
eduID.africa provides governance templates, federation software, peering documentation, and technical support for NREN-led deployments.
T&I Roadshow programme
Regional workshops drive adoption in-country, helping your NREN build the institutional membership base that makes a national federation viable.
What's needed to start
eduID.africa's assessment team will review your NREN's readiness across these areas before the deployment engagement begins.
Not ready for Path A yet?
Your institutions can participate via the catchall federation while your NREN builds capacity toward a national federation. The catchall is a stepping stone, not a dead end.
